Can I read DRM protected eBooks, or Mobipocket/Kindle format books?

You can't directly open DRM protected ePub books in Talking Clipboard. But you can remove the DRM from these books for personal use.

Article 24, which allows, in combination with Article 18, do the following software without the consent of the copyright owner:
  • Copy software for backup.
  • Copy software for maintenance service licensed copy holder.
  • Copy software or make derivative works of her suitability for a computer system or other software.
  • Patch security holes and protecting them.
  • Obtaining information necessary to adjust the computer system or other software (engineering back) with no intention to violate copyrights.

Almost all the major DRM's like Adobe ePub DRM, Kindle DRM, Barnes & Noble ePub DRM, etc. can be removed for personal use.

You can convert your eBook from any format to ePub format using various free tools like: 2epub, calibre, How can I create ePub files from my books?.
